    Description

    This resource supports advanced materials selection teaching, where realistic examples are desirable. In this case study, we have investigated pressure vessels for aerospace applications. Inspired by a paper from Nasa, we have studied how to select suitable materials among the aerospace subset. The selection procedure is described in detail and the result is then compared with currently used materials for Space Shuttle tanks and the cryogenic tanks of Ariane rockets. In this case, we were able also to find supporting information via the HELP function.
